DONE DEAL: Timothy Weah – Celtic
Celtic have confirmed the signing of Timothy Weah from Paris Saint-Germain on loan until the end of the current season.
Son of former Ballon d’Or winner George Weah, the 18-year-old has been already won 8 senior caps for the United States, scoring once.
“Timothy’s a young talent who is full international player,” Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers said.
“He has a long career ahead of him but he has those natural attributes in terms of his pace and technique.”

DONE DEAL: Jermain Defoe – Rangers
Jermain Defoe has completed his move from Bournemouth to Rangers after signing an 18-month loan deal with the Scottish outfit.
The 36-year-old former England international underwent his medical in Manchester on Saturday after agreeing and finalising personal terms with the club earlier in the week.
Defoe’s loan-deal includes two recall options – one in the summer of 2019 and January 2020.
Rangers’ manager Steven Gerrard said: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Jermain to Rangers. He is an exceptionally talented striker and vastly experienced footballer who has scored goals at every club he has played for.

Aleksandar Mitrovic – Chinese Super League
Fulham have rejected a bid of £50m from an unnamed Chinese club for Serbian star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. The 24-year old is the Cottagers’ leading scorer this season with 8 Premier League goals. (The Sun)
Omar Elabdellaouic – Daily Record
Celtic are lining up a move for Olympiakos right-back Omar Elabdellaoui. The Greek club are thought to value the 27-year old at around the £4m mark. The Norwegian fullback has played 13 times in the Greek Super League this season. (Daily Record)
Willian – Barcelona
Chelsea have rejected a player-plus cash offer from Barcelona for their Brazilian winger Willian. The Catalan giants had offered out of favour wide attacker Malcom as a makeweight for the deal, though it’s understood that Chelsea aren’t keen on doing business. (Daily Telegraph)
Ever Banega – Arsenal
Reports today suggest Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with Ever Banega ahead of sealing the signing of the Sevilla midfielder this month. The talented 30-year has been in sparkling form in La Liga this season. (Daily Mirror)
Jonjo Shelvey – West Ham
West Ham are weighing up a move to sign Jonjo Shelvey from Newcastle, though the Magpies are thought to be reluctant to let their most creative midfielder leave in January. Shelvey has only started 8 times for Newcastle in the Premier League this season. (Daily Mail)
Adrian Rabiot – Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich have made a late move to pip Barcelona to the signature of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The 23-year old had looked set to move to the Nou Camp before Bayern Munich’s late intervention. (Daily Mail)
Cedric Soares – Everton
Everton are preparing to launch a £15m move for Southampton full-back Cedric Soares. Toffees boss Marco Silva has identified the 27-year old as the perfect player to reinforce Everton’s backline and the Portuguese international could be available for around £15m. (HITC)
Gonzalo Higuain – Chelsea
Chelsea are locked in talks to bring Juventus and Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain to the club on loan until the end of the season. Juventus are looking to offload the centre forward permanently however. The 31-year-old is currently on loan at fellow Serie A side AC Milan, where he has scored 6 goals in 15 Serie A appearances.
